The World Health Organization defines healthy aging as “the process of developing and maintaining the functional ability that enables wellbeing in older age.” Functional ability is about having the capabilities that enable all people to be and do the things they value with reason. However, healthy brain aging can become adversely impacted due to conditions such as mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease.
The 501 at Mattison Estate proudly welcomes Leah Barnes and Andrew Beltran, BA, outreach coordinators from Penn Memory Center, to discuss healthy brain aging, various cognitive impairments, healthy aging tips, the importance of clinical research, and the resources & opportunities available within the Penn Memory Center.
There will be an opportunity for questions and answers at the conclusion of the presentation. Light breakfast will be served.
